Health Alliance Unveils New Breast Care Project

Winter Garden, Florida- March 2008- Health Alliance Family Care Center unveiled its plans to provide diagnostic breast care services to low-income, uninsured women presenting with breast cancer symptoms. Additionally, through a partnership with Winter Garden Family Health Center, free routine mammograms are also available for patients of the Center.
The project was made possible by a series of grants awarded to the Health Alliance by the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Foundation. Though the project has been underway for over two years, continued support from the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Foundation made the addition of routine screenings feasible.

"Our goal is to improve the health of our community by increasing access to health care for all, regardless of one's income or health insurance status" said Renée Reneau, Executive Director of the Health Alliance. "The Central Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For The Cure grant will contribute to our mission, and help the most vulnerable members of our community. These programs will help lead to early diagnosis and treatment, with the ultimate goal of reducing the number of women lost to breast cancer."
Since 1994, the Health Alliance Inc. and its committed team of health care providers have strived to eliminate financial barriers for low-income residents of Central Florida. Today, through the aid of public and private funding, the Health Alliance offers adult/family medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics, dental, family and individual counseling, substance abuse counseling, WIC, a free immunization clinic, laboratory, pharmacy, x-ray services, secondary care referrals for eligible residents, family resource case management, some chronic care services, and breast care services to those who may not otherwise be able to afford it.
